British Trombone Festival 2024 Details Announced

British Trombone Society Announce Details for 2024 Festival


The British Trombone Festival promises to be a fantastic events for all trombone players. Taking place between the 25th and 27th October 2024 at the Royal Birmingham conservatoire and hosted by the British Trombone Society, the event will feature masterclasses, performances and exhibitions catering to all levels of trombonists, from students to professionals.


Exciting Performances

Across the festical there will be a range of performances and classes for ticket-holders to take part in, including massed ensembles, masterclasses and interactive classes covering all styles of playing from Early to Modern.


A separately-ticketed three set jazz concert in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire's very own Eastside Jazz Club will close the first day of the festival. In addition to this performance, there will be appearances from trombone virtuoso, Nils Wogram; Dave Sear's stellar quintet with Percy Pursglove and the inaugural gig of a new trombone and rhythym-section band, Brum Bones.


All British Trombone Society competition finals will be held over the weekend, which will be a great opportunity for finalists to showcase their performances to an enthusiastic audience.

Expert-led Youth Events

In addition to the main Festival on the 26th October, the event will also include a number of activities aimed at youth musicians, led by Tom Lees and Becky Pepper. These activities will give younger players a chance to learn from some of the visiting artists.


A Chance to Learn From the Best

A 'Lesson Lotto' will give all attendees the chance to have a short lesson with of the visiting artists, with details on how to enter to be announced on the British Trombone Society page soon..


Ticket Information

Tickets are available for a two-day pass, Saturday Day Pass and Sunday Day Pass and separate ticketing for the Saturday evening Jazz Club.


Special room rates, including breakfast have been organised with the Marriott Aloft Birmingham Eastside Hotel - this offer closes on Friday 20th September, so booking early is essential!
