The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain has announced an exciting new job opportunity for someone who is passionate about shaping the future of brass music and nurturing the next generation of young musicians.


Director of Artistic Planning Role at the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain

The organisation is now seeking expressions of interest for the role of Director of Artistic Planning. This is a key leadership position that will guide the band's artistic strategy and extend the band's national and international profile. As outlined in the job advertisement, the ideal candidate will:


  • Have a deep understanding of brass music, musiianship and the broader performing arts and cultural landscape

  • Be able to inspire and manage relationships with guest conductors and soloists, composers, tutors, the band's young musicians and other youth music organisations

  • Demonstrate strong strategic vision and organisational skills

  • Be committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity and excellence in the arts.


This is a renumerated, self-employed role that reports to the CEO and requires an average of 30-35 hours per month input across the year.


Interested parties need to submit an expression of interest, outlining their artistic vision for the organisations, relevant experience and fee expectations in no more than two sides of A4 to the band's CEO, Mark Bromley, by 5pm on 8th March 2025.
