UniBrass Launches 2025 Composition Competition

Unibrass Inspiring the Next Generation of Brass Band Composers

UniBrass is once again offering young composers the chance to showcase their talents through its 2025 Composition Competition. The event is open to those aged 18-25, including students and recent graduates, regardless of their band's participation in the UniBrass Championships.

Expert Adjudication

The Unibrass Composition competition is an exciting opportunity for young composers to showcase their talent and create new works for brass band.

Submitted works will be adjudicated by esteemed composer, Liz Lane and the winning composition will be published by Wright and Round Publishers.

Unibrass Composition Competition

Entrants must be aged 18-25 years old as of 18th September 2024 or a student at any UK university or a recent graduate of two academic years.

The submitted composition should:

• Be an original composition

• Not infringe any copyright

• Be arranged for a standard brass band

• Be between 3 and 6 minutes long

• Be playable by a Championship section band with a few rehearsals

Compositions must be submitted by December 11th 2024.
